A.    Pesticides are highly toxic that even a small amount on the skin can be lethal, no antidote is available. Pesticides are use at home, schools, environment, water supplies, farms and etc.  Dan Shapley, ( www.thedaily green.com), stated that 46 million pounds are used yearly. According to Beyond Pesticides, Pesticides are linked to "non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, endocrine disruption, reproductive and developmental effects, as well as water contamination and toxicity to aquatic organisms.


B.    Pesticides are highly toxic that even a small amount on the skin can be lethal.


C.    Pesticide contamination of drinking water and aquatic life and lastly, health effects to humans and animals.


In addition, pesticide contaminate the drinking water and aquatic life



A.    There are three to fifteen herbicides present in drinking water.  People living in rural areas are exposed to pesticides from their drinking water.


B.    There is an increasing concern over the effect of pesticides to aquatic life and water quality.


C.    Pesticides are one group of toxic compounds linked to human use that have a profound effect on aquatic life and water quality.


D.    Unintentional pesticide-related fish kills occur throughout the United States. Some of these kills have been large, involving thousands of fishes, as well as frogs, turtles, mussels, water birds, and other wildlife.


Finally, risk of pesticides to human and animals


 

A.    Pesticides are everywhere, in homes, schools, playgrounds, farms and in the air that contaminates us.


B.    Pesticide exposure that has adverse health effects to children, the most susceptible to pesticides because their immune systems are not fully develop. Children may be exposed to pesticides in several ways, transfer during fetal life, by intake of contaminated breast milk and other nutrients, or by contact with contaminated subjects and areas in the environment.


C.    Have been linked to "Non-Hodgkin lymphoma", endocrine disruption, reproductive and developmental effects.


D.    Pets/Animals are exposed to the pesticides the same way as humans.


E.    To conclude, pesticides are toxic to humans and animals. They have a very adverse effect to children who are the most vulnerable/susceptible to pesticides and linked to cancer and other diseases.


To summarize;



Pesticides are highly toxic that even a small amount on the skin can be lethal, no antidote is available. The EPA in-charge of regulating its use must impose restrictions and regulation of its use, the contamination to drinking water and aquatic organism and the health effect to humans and animals. Protect yourself and family by minimizing or eliminating the use of chemicals in your household and lawns.
